Yeah, go ahead and let me make that argument about, say, democratic reform, and watch what happens. Think I’d end up on Hardball like Andrew Sullivan did? I’d more likely end up his Fascist of the Month Award winner. But that bright and shining hunk of cognitive dissonace isn’t stopping the newspapers from their full-throated criticism of Benedict XVI and it won’t stop them from making the opposite argument in some article about Donald Rumsfeld, George Bush, or Condoleeza Rice next week.
