The Day After Tomorrow
The worst part of this film — computer-generated wolves that escape and intend to feast on Jake Gyllenhaal and friends as they board a ship (sitting in the middle of a New York street) to find penacilin to save Emmy Rossum. In this film, we watch the Statue of Liberty swallowed by water, the Capitol Records building annhilated by tornadoes, helicopters frozen in mid-air and golf ball-sized hail dropping on China. All of that looked credible and awesome on screen. These wolves were a joke and basically ruined the credibility of the rest of the film for me. That being said, the film makes you think and it makes you gape in awe at points. I think in a disaster movie, that’s pretty much what you’re looking for.
