Saying Good-bye to Rosa
Very interesting. The casket finally had to be carried to Woodlawn Cemetary in an antique hearse [will check for more photos] as the guests just kept pouring in to pay respects. Among the unexpected were Senator John Kerry, and Hillary Clinton. The route to the final resting place was packed with people on the streets waiting to pay respects as Rosa went by, cheering, clapping, and releasing white balloons.

Hillary Eyes Virginia
Hillary Clinton boosters will be watching tomorrow’s race for governor in Virginia as the outcome could boost the fortunes of a potential opponent in the 2008 Democratic presidential primaries, outgoing Virginia Gov. Mark Warner.

Republicans In Trouble?
I gotta say however, I love this little spark set to flame up in New York concerning 2006. It seems that the Conservative Party may be set to give GOP candidate John Spencer their endorsement and their line, thus snubbing Jeanine Pirro the candidate tapped by Bush and Pataki to take on Senator Hillary Clinton next year.

The Plame Story - Documented
Joe Wilson took “a prominent role” in the Kerry campaign, “joined forces” with Win Without War (the group claiming that the President misled Americans about weapons of mass destruction and collaborated with MoveOn.org), called Vice President Cheney a “lying son of a bitch,” and the President a “liar.” He donated $2,000 to the Kerry campaign, $2,000 to Senator Ted Kennedy, and $2,000 to Senator Hillary Clinton.

Hillary's Conundrum
With 3 years to go until the next presidential election and the end of the Bush/Cheney nightmare, most inside the Beltway pundits have anointed Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) the Democratic presidential frontrunner. Sen. Clinton, always coy on the subject, insists her focus is on reelection to a second term to the senate. Polls show her popularity among New Yorkers in the mid-60’s. If Sen. Clinton decides to run for president, she has one enormous obstacle to overcome: her passionate support for the Iraq war.

Liberals Shooting Blanks
"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including Al Qaeda members, though there is apparently no evidence of his involvement in the terrible events of September 11, 2001. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons. Should he succeed in that endeavor, he could alter the political and security landscape of the Middle East, which as we know all too well affects American security." -- Hillary Clinton, October 10, 2002

Hillary gets populist with it
It's good to see Hillary Clinton speaking about the domestic issues that affect the poor and working classes. Sirota is correct in saying that this is the way the Democrats should be speaking. Truthfully, if they were speaking like this I may not have left the party. She continues on to say that the rich did not make America great, it was the middle class. I am very happy that she feels that the job of government is to bring balance to the economic scales of the country. The government must level the playing field.

General Motors vs. the Ungrateful Mob
As the masses clamor in protest to these cuts, politicians will line up seeking to buy those votes with contrived concern for the ‘uninsured americans’ being denied the ‘right to basic health care’. Hillary Clinton tried the universal health care scheme and Americans weren’t ready yet, so the issue died. However, cuts such as those by GM will provide the public hysteria needed to get universal health care moving.

Very interesting. The incredible corruption and cronyism emerging out of the funding of New Orleans’ reconstruction is the final nail in the Republican electoral coffin. Miers is Screwed
But the criticism doesn’t stop with the Christian conservatives or the radical right. Moderates and liberals are still hammering Miers over her lack of qualifications for the job and accusing Bush of once again appointing friends to important jobs instead of people who actually know how to do the fucking job (Brownie, anyone?). In that vein, we present the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Arlen Specter (R-PA), who a lot of Republicans hate anyways for being too damn moderate (he supports abortion rights). Specter told the New York Times, on Sunday I believe but I’m not sure, that Miers “needs more than a murder board (question and answer session meant to simulate the hearings), she needs a crash course in constitutional law.” Coming from the guy leading the confirmation hearings, that is the worst statement anyone supporting Miers could want to hear at this stage in the game. Could it get any worse for Miers? Yes. It was revealed yesterday that the Political Action Committee of Miers’ law firm donated money to the campaign of Hillary Clinton. Just piss off the conservatives even more.

condi vs hillary
Who will be president in 2008? Many believe that the White House is Hillary Clinton’s to lose. As long-time strategists Dick Morris and Eileen McGann reveal in Condi vs. Hillary, however, Hillary’s plans for higher office are vulnerable to a challenge from a most unexpected quarter: the Bush administration’s secretary of state and former national security advisor, Condoleezza Rice.

Art Without Elites
Pinkerton then relates the awarding of Maya Lin’s Vietnam Veterans Memorial in 1981 with the AIC, illustrating how they were able to win the public relations battle to advance a design that expressed sorrow and defeatism. The AIC was clever to cloak their anti-war positions with aesthetic gobbledy-gook as well as mischaracterizing their opponents as cultural philistines. Twenty-five years later, with the rise of a hydra-headed mass media, the veil of aesthetic gobbledy-gook would finally be removed to reveal the naked anti-American opinions of most members of the AIC, and the International Freedom Center was removed from ground zero by New York’s governor following a condemnation by New York Senator Hillary Clinton.

So has anyone heard about Condi Rice being put in the race for our next president, running against the other woman (Hillary Clinton)? Are we ready for the cat fight that will occur when our first time run for president is against two women? All I can say is I hope they at least cut their nails first. Another question is are we ready for a woman as president? Do you think that she will get the respect from the rest of washington not to mention the middle east to be able to get the job done?

Hurricane Katrina - Washington Blood Bath
Who knew...So the Democrats now want blood, requesting an official inquiry into why the government was so slow to respond. Hillary Clinton has suggested moving various levels of federal government under one cabinet. I’m sure the reports will be very thorough, but they will be absolutely useless once we have a new administration in a few years. In the end, the media refuses to just say, SHIT HAPPENS. They rant that the federal government should be able to do more - they have all the money and all the power in the world, but that’s just it, money and power will not overcome 200 years of red tape. Only a dictatorship has that ability.

Recently Senators Hillary Clinton (D-NY) and John Kyl (R-AZ) have individually called for probes into the Hurricane Katrina disaster. In a recent New York Daily News article, Senator Clinton said, “The slow pace of relief efforts in the face of a mounting death toll … seems to confirm that our ability to respond to cataclysmic disasters has not been adequately addressed.” Clinton, Kyl and many in the media have been quick to point fingers and lay blame. The question must be asked: Is now the right time for these concerns?

The real class warfare
We truly don’t understand shit with regards to poverty and the plight of the working class if we’re going to keep allowing corporate interests and special interests to control the country with their interests at heart, not the interests of the citizens fo the United States. I don’t believe Bush can grasp what the common person suffers. I could never believe John Kerry (or Hillary Clinton) would be able to comprehend it either, or Al Gore… It’s the same-old aristocrat class that is so out of touch with America that we suffer at their ineptitude.

The Overlooked Conservatives
Found that anti-abortion liberal yet? No? And you won't, because they are to the Left as Trotsky was to Stalin, and have been effectively exiled from the liberal community. The Left has come to the point where the suggestion that abortion might be anything less than a criteria for cannonization is met with gasps and hushed whispers in the back room. When aspiring Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said that we should try to reduce the number of abortions, the nation acted as though she had come out for overturning Roe v. Wade, because it is so inconceivable that a Democrat could say something poor about abortion that our minds reel when it happens.

Not a Senate Seeker
Democratic Governor Mark Warner has officially declined to challenge incumbent George Allen for Virginia’s Senate seat next year. Warner, who is barred from a second consecutive term by Virginia’s state constitution and will leave office in January, is widely rumored to be considering a run at the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination. It is a wise move for the governor, whose presidential hopes would have been severely damaged by a defeat versus Allen. Now he can concentrate on polishing his moderate image, which he hopes will make him an attractive alternative to Hillary Clinton or whatever liberal comes out of the Howard Dean wing of the party. Warner remains popular in Virginia despite what many argue was an unnecessary tax hike last year.

got the new...
time magazine today, and in the top right hand corner there is a little box that says "is this the face-off for '08?" and pictures hillary clinton and john mccain... now, ignoring for a moment the fact that in our fast-food, completely disposable, must be so far ahead of the curve that we've straightened it out behind us society it is right now 2005 and we're already declaring the race for the prsidency in 2008, ignoring the fast that in the 3 years between now and the general election that will determine the next president there is plenty of time for another 9/11, for w to completely screw things up in iraq so badly that the republicans will be doing nothing but damage control or for him to come out so much the hero that the dems will have no choice but to grudgingly support his efforts, for that matter for another political superstar to arise in the mid-term elections next year (rising star obama come to anyone's mind?), ignoring all of that and assuming that the magazine's article is correct in it's prediction of the eventual "face-off"...

Buy Me A Steak
Because I'm damned sure that most of these people would lose their minds if someone put together a memorial commemorating the names of the dead soldiers alongside with a list of the people who are protesting the war at Camp Casey outside the offices of a Democratic Senator who voted for the war. Like, say, Hillary Clinton?

Clinton & McCain
Was the image of Hillary Clinton (D-NY) and John McCain (R-AZ) -- the two frontrunners for their respective party’s 2008 presidential nomination -- in Alaska on Wednesday a sign of things to come? Might they again join forces in the future when it comes to finding a running mate?

A Right Thinking Girl
The phrase 'the greater good' has been popping up more frequently than in my recent memory, punctuated by Hillary Clinton's announcement in San Francisco last year that she was going to "take away from you for the greater good". Every time I hear it, first I cringe and then I ask: Who or what exactly is the greater good? It seems to me that when Socialists start discussing the "greater good", they are inevitably talking about a minority of people who expect special attention at the cost of the majority.

Grand Theft Auto: Adults Only?
With the discovery of certain mature material latent in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, many are up in arms. Patrick Wildenborg, 36, of Denver is credited with creating a downloadable mod for this game that unlocks a certain controvertial hidden section of the game. This material produces questionable pornographic scenes that involve the main character CJ and his many girlfriends from the game. Rockstart denies that their programmers included such content and upholds there stance that the ESRB will uphold their M for Mature rating rather then changing to the Adults Only rating. Patrick informed the Associated Press that his code does not add anything to the source code, but in fact only releases hidden content written by the game’s programmers. Many celebrities and government officials, including New York Senetor Hillary Clinton have advocated their distaste for the game, even before the surfacing of this controvercial material. Be sure to check back soon, I will post any updates as they are released. For more info on this hot topic click here.

Blogs For Bloomberg
Before you tear me a new navel, remember that earlier this year, Hillary Clinton stated she wanted a Democrat to take back Gracie Mansion as a sign to the Bush White House. Making Hillary eat her words is worth it in my eyes, even if it means sucking up your pride and voting for a "liberal - Republican".

This Evening's Laundry: Lance Armstrong
I believe that Hillary Clinton is actually an alien, from a part of the universe we’re unaware of (lay off my dangling participle). She appears to be human, her anatomy/physiology are consistent with those of all other humans, and while her ideas are often “different,” there is no medical support for my position.

Hot News, Cold News
• In Iraq, it has been reported that $8.8 billion allocated to the Coalition Provisional Authority has been "lost." This astounding sum of money was stolen, misallocated, or otherwise frittered away while Paul Bremer was in charge of the CPA. There has been no public explanation of what happened to the money or how the loss is being investigated. And no one in the mainstream media seems to be pursuing the issue. Why not? As you will recall, Bill and Hillary Clinton's $68,000 lost investment in Whitewater generated a five-year investigation.

Crime is a product of social excess
As you may or may not know Hillary Clinton has gotten in on the bashing of GTA:SA. Form an article on MSNBC.com ““We need to do everything we can to make sure that parents have a line of defense against graphic and violent video games and other content that goes against the values they’re trying to instill in their children,” Clinton said.” Let’s examine this, shall we? So according to Ms. Clinton the Mature 17+ ESRB rating was not good enough? This from a woman who’s husband made oral sex (which is not really sex, right?) a household word back in ’98. In 1998, eight year old little Johnny asks his mother “What’s sex? What’s oral sex? Why are they different? Why is it ok for the president to cheat on his wife?” But I digress…

The unbearable lightness of Luskin
Those words were like Viagra to a White House press corps that has been flaccid since Bill and Hillary Clinton moved out of the White House. McClellan had told them it was “ridiculous” to think that Rove had anything to do with the leak, that if anyone in the administration did have anything to do with the leak they would “no longer be in this administration,” and that Rove, Elliott Abrams and Lewis Libby had personally assured him they had nothing to do with the leak (as indeed they may have done).
